Amorette’s Patisserie

The last time we were in Orlando, we did explore Disney Springs a bit. But, we didn’t get to visit this spot. Now that we are back, full of Disney energy, we decided to get some Disney-themed desserts!

They had a nice amount of seating for a dessert café, kind of long and a bit narrow as you go further back. They have a small kitchen where they decorate the pastries and other goodies towards the front and middle of the shop to the right.

It was really cool to watch the pastry chef creating the tasty delights right there. This pastry chef was busy putting on some finishing touches on one of the most popular items here. Past the kitchen is where all the desserts are displayed in a glass case like some precious jewels. Did I want all of them? Yes. Could we afford it? My wallet said NO. And my stomach joined in and also said NO. Tough crowd…

So, we got two items, Mickey Mousse ($8) and Petit Amorette’s Cake ($16). They are both the top selling items here. One of them is because it is super duper cute, and another one because it is their signature cake.

Mickey Mousse ($8) with a cute play on the name, “mouse” and “mousse” was definitely something I wanted. It is made with Chocolate Chiffon Cake with White Chocolate Mousse and Chocolate Pudding. Just look at this adorable dessert! Mickey sure will be proud! They do sell other characters too, such as Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto, but as a full-size cake.

The Mickey Mousse was very tasty! I especially loved the fact that it had a cute little tail. And, the fact that I was just watching this dessert being made right there, I was so excited to try one. The chiffon cake on the bottom was nice and moist. The surprise ingredient was the crispy white chocolate pearls in the middle, that gave a fun popping texture. The mousse was fluffy and velvety, and the pudding added extra firm yet creamy texture. Yum!

Petit Amorette’s Cake ($16) is really something to look at. It has eleven layers!!! The layers consists of Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Cake, Cherry Mousse, Chocolate Mousse, and Raspberry Pate De Fruit Jelly, coated with Italian Buttercream. This is the smaller version of their signature cake.

It had real weight to it, with 11 layers, it should be heavy… It was a nice size, not too small, a good size for sharing. I originally thought it was covered with crazy thick white fondant, but then I realized it was an Italian buttercream! It kind of came off as we started to eat it, like a fondant… But, if you allow it to melt on your tongue, you can really taste it. With the amount of buttercream, it was rather very sweet… The layers were delicate and pretty, with great mix of chocolate and raspberry flavors. The pate de fruit jelly had strong raspberry flavor that popped! This one also had the fun crispy chocolate pearls that I really enjoyed. Also, the ribbon-looking thing on the bottom was a real ribbon! Be careful not to eat that part.

As we were having this cake, we sat another pastry chef come in. She started to put the Italian buttercream on this Petite Amorette’s Cake, which was cool to see.

One of the sweets that I really wanted to get while in Walt Disney World was a chocolate chip cookie. After some search, we found out that Amorette’s have one! So, we went back to Amorette’s for the second time, just so that we can get a cookie! The Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4) was a pretty good size, so we just bought one. You get a discount if you buy three!

It was thin but large, with nice crunchy texture on the edges. The most of the cookie itself was soft and moist, which was awesome. It had substantial pieces of chocolate chips that were gooey and delicious. It was one tasty cookie! Very satisfying and filling.

The staffs here on both days were very nice and welcoming. The shop was clean and inviting, fun and sweet. I would definitely go back to try some other desserts that they offer here. They all looked really pretty and tasty…
