I enjoy coffee and tea, well, more tea than coffee…anyways, while we were hanging out in Brooklyn, we were looking for a spot for a good cup of coffee or tea, and this spot came up on my search. It had raving reviews, so I was excited to try their creations. We actually walked pass the entrance (one of entrances, found out later), as it didn’t really have much noticeable marking.
But as soon as we stepped in, I was in awe of the interior. It was modern, bright, welcoming, and very inviting. This location has two separated ordering counters, and the one in the back where we came in from has unique matcha drinks with limited coffee offerings.
They didn’t have much seating, or I thought, I until I walked a bit further in…to find a grand space beyond!
Brooklyn Roasting Company has more than handful of locations, and this locations is their espresso lab and roasting headquarters.
The front side, through the main entrance was much bigger, bright with natural lights flooding in from large windows. They had vintage couches, armchairs and furniture. I read that their tables are made using reclaimed steel doors and topped with glass. How cool! They had loads of merchandise goods also. At this counter, they offer espresso drinks and all sorts of coffee, and limited amount of tea menu.
I ordered a matcha drink from the back counter. As it was still summer when we went, they had a couple of Summer Specials. I ordered Strawberry Fields from the menu. It is made with strawberry, ginger, milk of choice, and matcha. I chose Almond Milk, and iced. It came up to around $7. It was certainly an interesting drink, nothing like I’ve ever had. The matcha was strong, and a real deal matcha. Didn’t get much strawberry, as the ginger was more overpowering. Not sweet at all, I believe they don’t add any artificial sweetener, which was good for me. High quality drink. Very refreshing drink on a hot day.
The place was pretty crowded with locals, just relaxing alone or with friends. Seemed like a great spot to hang out. I would like to try their popular coffee drinks the next time I am in Brooklyn!
