We first tried Burger Heights in 2017, and we became a fan of their burgers and shakes. Dining out during the COVID time has been tough, and therefore, we haven’t really gone out to eat as much this year. Same for food deliveries, we don’t usually get deliveries to begin with, and that part didn’t change this year. But, we decided to get some food delivered on one October day, and we chose Burger Heights!
We ordered two burgers, two shakes, and one fries. The first burger of choice was Overlook Burger ($8.99), made with Swiss Cheese, Grilled Mushroom, Grilled Onions, and Heights Sauce. We had this before, and remembered how tasty it was. This time, we added Bacon for additional $1.79, and Lettuce & Tomato for free (thanks Burger Heights!).
Their burger is on the smaller side when it comes to its size, similar to Shake Shack. The patty was cooked just the way we ordered, juicy and packed with flavor. Mushroom and onions were great too. Bacon added extra meaty-ness and flavor to it, and went great with the burger. Small but satisfying!
The second choice was Impossible Burger ($14.99), made with 100% Plant – Base Burger, Vegan American Cheese, Raw Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, and Ketchup. Ever since I first tried Impossible Burger from Hopdoddy Burger Bar in Austin, TX, I fell in love with it. I had them from Mike & Patty’s in Boston, and Putnam’s Pub & Cooker in Brooklyn. Each place do them a bit differently, and I was excited to see Burger Heights offers Impossible Burger! If you are a fan of Beyond Burger, they have that too!
I substituted the cheese with Swiss Cheese. The patty was bigger than buns, coming out of the buns, which was kind of funny. It was thinner than I wanted it to be, but hey, that is ok. It was not as good as I remembered from other places, but that could be because it was delivered, and was a cold day and the patty got a bit cooled before I got to it. Bur for the price, I was hoping for more of a “wow” moment with my first bite, which I didn’t get. I might try it again if I am having it right at the Burger Heights shop, but otherwise, I probably won’t order it for delivery.
Now, I like regular fries, and my hubby likes sweet potato fries. Luckily for us, they offer Half Sweet Half Regular Fries ($5.50/Large)! They only come in one size, large, but that was fine since we were going to share one order. At the first glance, it didn’t look “large,” but it actually had loads packed in there! Regular fries are fat and soft, with perfect amount of seasoning. Just the way I like them, so it was great! Sweet potatoes fries were fatter and softer than the last time we tried them, which was nice. The edges had a bit of caramelized sweetness to it, tasted like honey and or brown sugar? I really liked it! The sauce it comes with is great.
For shakes, we ordered Cookies & Cream ($7.99), and Black & White ($7.99). Cookies & Cream is a simple yet awesome classic! Had chunks of cookies in it, most of them small enough to get through the thick straw. Tasty! We were not completely sure what Black & White Shake was…but we found out that it is just a mix of vanilla and chocolate shake. We were somehow imagining it to be something more unique, so a bit disappointed… Regardless, both shakes were creamy and velvety. Nice!
The food delivery was easy and quick, saved us time and convenient. The only thing is that the buns can get soggy faster with the delivery, no matter how fast they deliver them. But we did enjoy the food and shakes, so much so that we ordered from them again! This time, we again ordered two burgers, two shakes, and one fries. The first burger was something we tried in the past, Amsterdam Burger ($9.89), with Cheddar Cheese, Guacamole, Lettuce, Tomato, Chipotle. The last time we tried it, the guac was on top of the patty. This time, it was under the patty. I am not sure if they changed the way they make them, or it is depending on who is making it?
The guac being under the patty made it a bit messier to eat… The guac was fresh, tasty, and the burger itself was tasty, juicy, a really nice one.
The last but not least, Wordsworth Burger ($9.49), made with Swiss Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Ham, Tomato, Lettuce, and BBQ sauce. It sounded very interesting. The pineapple & ham combination is a “love it or hate it” thing among many people, and I always loved it! This one had one thick slice of pineapple, which was not expected but awesome! Also made it easier to eat too. It was a great burger, we really enjoyed it. If you are a fan of pineapple and ham, then you should try this cool item!
For the shake, we ordered Strawberry ($7.99) and Dulce de Leche ($7.99). Strawberry Shake had bits of real strawberries in it, really awesome! A true classic… We had Dulce de Leche Shake in the past, it was really good. And this time, it was as good as we remembered! Very big flavor of caramel, very smooth! Great for caramel lover!
On both days, we were happily full and completely satisfied! Glad to know their business is doing well. The prices of their burgers and shakes have gone up a bit in the last three years, but they have to do what they have to do to survive. I am glad we got to support their business. If you are in the area, looking for a tasty burger and shakes, give them a try!
