Since we discovered this café about a couple of month ago, we went back a few more times. One of those time, we tried their brunch menu, which are made to order. We got Pumpkin Latte to get into the autumn mood. It was sweet and comforting, with a nice flavor of cinnamon with the cinnamon powder sprinkled on top.
I ordered Mushroom Madame ($14.95), made with baked ham & gruyere cheese sandwich, topped with egg and mushroom. Basically, a Croque Madame with mushroom. It was huge! Egg was cooked to perfection, and I appreciated the side of mini pickles.
It was nice and hot, as it came right out the kitchen, so good!!! It had loads of mushroom, and very cheesy. The ham was fresh, and the white sauce had a really nice flavor. The bottom bread got soggy fast, but it was still super tasty! Salad was super fresh and crisp, not drenched in dressing but lightly coated with oil, which was great.
Since we wanted to try their French Onion Soup, my hubby went with Soup & Sandwich Combo ($12.95). He chose Ham & Cheese Panini, made with olive ciabatta bread, Swiss cheese, pesto, ham, arugula, and tomatoes. All the ingredients tasted fresh, and the pesto was really great in there. The bread was fluffy yet dense, making it more substantial.
They had Gumbo and French Onion Soup as the choice, and we went with French Onion Soup. It is made with onion, baguette, beef stock, and gruyere. It was super hot and cheesy, with nice earthy flavor. Just a bit on salty side but otherwise, I enjoyed it. Nice amount of baguette in there.
So, now we know their brunch menu is pretty good, on top of all the baked good items. It is always good to have more options! They have a few more brunch menu offerings, so I would like to try some other dishes in the future…
