I enjoy a nice bowl of poké every now and then. I had a few from The PokéSpot (you can read about it here: http://www.foodlovergirl.com/the-pokespot/ ), but I have been eyeing on this spot with high ratings. We happened to be just in the area, so we decided to check it out.

It was much smaller than I expected, but clean and modern. They had total of six counter seating, and three window seats. Not everyone comes here to eat-in, and the ones who do, don’t usually stay too long eating a bowl of Poké. So, I assume the amount of seating would be ok. While we were there around 1:30pm on a weekend, they had less than a handful of people eating there at most, but that was about it.

They had a box of extra paper towels near the ordering counter, and a pretty funny CPR poster. It was a fish who was rescuing a girl who was choking – possibly on a piece of a fish…! He must be very forgiving with a big heart… LOL

So, the poké. I wanted something with Ikura (salmon roe) with salmon. On their regular menu, they had Ponzu Salmon that you could add Ikura on top. But, that would cost me about $20. WOW! So, instead, I chose Salmon Ikura Chirashi ($16.99) from their premium menu. It comes with Atlantic Salmon Toro, Marinated Ikura, Shioso, Panko, Dried Seaweed, and Wasabi Nigiri Shoyu. It was indicated as “Large” but I still felt like it was not really “large”… more of a regular size bowl to me. It had a few, nice, large salmon sashimi pieces that had a bit of natural sweetness to it, fresh and melt in your mouth good. And I always loves ikura! The dish was quite crunchy from panko underneath the salmon. Soy sauce is not plain soy sauce, so it was not overwhelming nor too strong, but more flavorful. Doesn’t look big but with a good amount of rice, it was filling.

We wanted to end the lunch with their popular Dole whip ($4). On their menu, it says that they have Pineapple and a daily rotating selections of flavors. But, when I asked about the daily flavor, the staff told me that they only had pineapple flavor… Anyways, we got the Pineapple Dole Whip, and it was quite big! It was creamy but not too creamy to the point it starts melting immediately. It is more solid than regular soft serve, you can take your time and enjoy it. Great pineapple flavor, and the umbrella is super cute!

Staff was not overly friendly but nice and efficient. They do not have a restroom here, as it is not a real table-service restaurant. It was a good lunch, but I am not sure if it lived up to my high expectation. For the size, portion and price, I might still prefer The PokéSpot…. With so many options of Poké places in the city, it is good and fun to try out a new place and see who has what kind of poké.
