Ever since we visited D’avant Bakery the first time, we’ve been a fan. Especially all the baked items. We did try a couple of made-to-order, cooked food also. They were good, but not spectacular… So, it was time to go back to try other dishes.
My hubby went with Penne Smoked Salmon ($13.95), made with penne cooked in cream sauce with smoked salmon and capers. It was a nice size, with chunks of salmon on top. Not much salmon, but they were cooked just right. It was filling with generous amount of penne pasta, and two pieces of garlic bread. I wish if it had more salmon… It was tasty though, regardless. The cream sauce had a really nice flavor.
For me, I wanted a burger, but at the same time, I wanted something that is unique… And they had just the thing! Beef Bulgogi Burger & Fries ($9.95). The “patty” is made with mozzarella cheese melted on top of marinated & thin sliced beef loin with Korean noodle. Topped with lettuce, tomato & onion. So, it does not have an actual “patty” but bulgogi in there instead. It was a pretty big portion, with loads of fries! The Bulgogi was super tasty and juicy, but that also got the bottom bun to get soggy pretty quick. I would’ve put the lettuce on the bottom so that the bottom bun will stay dry… But otherwise, it was a really great burger!
This visit was another successful one. I actually liked the food at this visit better than the last visit when we ordered the bulgogi bowl and French toast. They have other tasty looking dishes, so I am sure we will return for more in a near future!
