I enjoy going to the Yankee Stadium for the whole game experience. (You can find my other reviews on Yankee Stadium here: http://www.foodlovergirl.com/yankee-stadium/ and http://www.foodlovergirl.com/yankee-stadium-2/)
First thing we do when we get there is to go to the Monument Park, before it gets crowded. Once everyone start making their way over there, it gets so packed that you can’t really see anything much in a peace and quite…and forget about taking a nice photo. But, if you are one of the first few people to get there, it is really nice, you get to spend some time there reading the plaques without people bumping into you.
And George Steinbrenner always makes me smile, while I remember some funny episodes from Jerry Seinfeld show.
Then, we go over the the 100s section, where you can really close the to baseball field for some quick view of the practice and photos. Some kids go over there with their gloves, hoping to get a baseball during the practice time. And yes, some kids do get lucky.
Just going there alone is a fun event, but if you can get a VIP seating, it is even more fun. But, what’s better than VIP seats? By getting a seat inside the Delta SKY360° Suite! It is located directly behind home plate, elevated by one floor. The Suite has a rather large climate-controlled lounge, which is really great on hot/humid day. Since we got there early, it was almost empty. It was really a huge space, with plenty of seating.
It has a nice bar in the middle, and sushi bar & hot dog / Italian dog to the right, and other hot food like subs and chicken tenders to the left.
To keep up with the demand, they had more than one fully equipped bars, which was really nice. And for those who are not interested in alcohol beverage but more of smoothie drinker, not to worry, they have that too! They had several different kinds of fresh fruits in plastic Yankee-hat-shaped containers. You pick the fruits and they make them right there and then for you.
As for the hot food, they really had nice varieties; burgers, chicken sandwich, fries, meatball subs, chicken parm, pizza, chicken wings…etc., etc. We really didn’t know what we were going to have, with all kinds of choices!
We walked over to the hot dog/Italian dog section, and we decided to have a Premio Sweet Italian Sausage ($8.50), based on the recommendation of the staff. We got all the toppings they had; sweet onion, sauerkraut, peppers & onions. It was so juicy and flavorful, freshly grilled so that it is not dry or burnt. It was a nice big size, perfect for sharing between the two of us.
The super nice and friendly staff at the hot dog station also told us about all the free amenities that comes with the suite. We got to have free popcorn, peanuts, non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee drinks, soda and water!
The coffee machine was Yankee designed, which was cute. We could make anything from regular coffee, latte, cappuccino in ice and hot, and any other gourmet coffee drinks!
Another cool thing they had right by the drinks and snacks was the charging station, in case you are running low on the battery for your phone or laptop. How considerate.
The snacks came in a small brown paper bags with Yankee’s logo. Cute! These snacks were just so freaking awesome! We got several bags during our stay, and the staffs did great job keeping them coming, as the snacks never ran out.
So, out of all these items, the only thing we paid for was the Italian dog. Incredible!
Delta Suite also comes with an outdoor patio with some tables and chairs, where you have an amazing views of the playing field. These table seating goes fast, so if you prefer to sit here, you need to grab them pretty quick. They also have in-seat wait service, both at this patio and at your seat (if you choose to). We certainly had a wonderful view from our patio table seat. We got to see Snoopy giving an award to one of the players.
We decided to try some special rolls and enjoy the game. We ordered Delta Yankee ($15) and Tanaka ($15). Yes a bit pricey but that comes with being in the suite.
The Delta Yankee roll is made with spicy tuna, avocado, seaweed salad and crab meat, topped with yellowtail and black caviar. The spicy tuna was really nice, it had a good kick to it. Didn’t really get the seaweed salad, but everything else had strong presence. It was fresh and tasty, we really enjoyed it. Not bad at all at the Yankee Stadium!
The Tanaka roll is made with shrimp tempura topped with spicy tuna, lobster meat salad and wasabi mayonnaise. It also had nice spiciness to it, which we really liked. The wasabi mayo was great touch, also bringing in nice contrast of color. Tempura was tasty, but didn’t really taste the lobster meat salad. I think the tempura and spicy tuna was too overpowering against the tiny little amount of lobster. Overall, we really enjoyed them both, it was fresh and delicious!
Another thing this Suite has is private restrooms, clean and spacious. Such a luxury at a sports complex! We also got to meet Mr. Paul, the piano man. He was really nice and took a photo with me with a big smile! Sorry for the bad lighting coming in from the back bright window…
Before moving onto our cushioned seats, we ordered some cocktails as well. Out of their specialty cocktail menu ($16/each), we chose The RBI and The Sweet Spot. I must say, I was a bit shocked and disappointed when the bartender staff made the drinks in a small plastic cups… For $16, I thought it would be a bit bigger… A funny thing was that the bartender was not familiar with their specialty cocktail menu, so she kept coming over the where the menu is, looking at what’s in them while making them.
So, what’s in them? The Sweet Spot is made with vodka, cranberry juice and pineapple juice, garnished with orange wedge. It was certainly sweet, but I really liked it. The bartender poured good amount of vodka so it had good amount of alcohol, not too strong, not too weak. The RBI is made with Orange vodka, peach schnapps, fresh lime juice and splash of lemon-lime soda. It also came with the orange wedge. Since it had a lemon-lime soda, it had a nice bubbly-ness to it, and was very refreshing. Not overly sweet and great on a hot Summer day.
One really fun thing about being in the patio is that the camera man always comes here. We got to be on the huge screen, which was really exciting! I wish if I had a photo or video of it… but I was not prepared… Maybe next time.
After we had lots of fun at the patio, we realized that they have some special seats on the patio for some ticket holders. They started putting chairs right in front of the table seats, so we no longer had a view… That is when we finally moved to our cushioned seat, which gave us another marvelous view of the field. We (Yankee) won that game, and we left through the private elevator.
After a fun night, we left with victory, full stomach, and plastic mason jars full of peanuts. It was such a fun night! That is certainly a great way to watch the game! I would love to go back to the Suite for another game before the season is over… If you have a chance to experience the Suite, don’t forget the free popcorn, peanuts, and non-alcoholic beverages!

really wish they ad more vegetarian options at this luxury box.
Hello D.Lopez,
I agree with you on the lack of vegetarian options… they do have some vegetarian-friendly sushi items there, maybe that will be a good option if you haven’t try them already? Let’s hope they will add more vegetarian-friendly menus in the near future!
