Trying to get something different in the morning, I looked for a new spot. I wanted some kind of breakfast sandwich type of food, plus something sweet. This place came up in my search, so I decided to try them out.
The inside was nice and bright with the surrounding walls covered with large windows. At the end of long and narrow entry way was the ordering counter with all sorts of tasty baked goods in them. During my research, it showed that they had macarons, which I was excited about. But when I got there early in the morning, they didn’t have any macarons…
The seating was plenty for a cozy cafe. They had table seating alongside the long and narrow entry way, and also across from the ordering counter. It is no-frills kind of place, but warm and welcoming.
Inside the window display, they had all sorts of croissants, muffins, cookie, scones, etc., etc… Nice selections of baked goods, perfect for a morning or afternoon. Inside the refrigerated display, they had some cold drinks, parfait, and cupcakes, and few other desserts.
Since they didn’t have macarons, I decided to go with a different dessert. I ordered their Cream Puff ($3) with my sandwich. I received the cream puff first, as the sandwich was made to order. The best way to make sure you have room for dessert after the meal is to…eat the dessert first! So, I started to dig in. Cream puff looked like ordinary one, and from the look of it, I wasn’t sure how much cream was actually in it. After the first bite, I saw it had a crazy amount of cream filling! It was heavy in weight with the cream as you can imagine. It was really decadent and tasty, but not amazing though.
Then my sandwich. I ordered Cajun Chicken Sandwich ($7.49), which is made with cajun-spiced baked chicken, lettuce, tomato, red onion, bell pepper, cheese, garlic mayo. I asked if the sandwich can be made on croissant, and they said yes. The sandwich comes with a small garden salad, but I just got a sandwich since I was not going to be eating that much. A staff brought it out to me in a paper bag. She realized I was eating in, so she brought it back on a plate for me. It was quite large in size, which was great.
I somehow thought it will be on hot/warm toasted croissant but it was cold. Later I discovered that they can make their sandwiches in hot-pressed panini style upon request… Oh well. So, it was a cold sandwich, but that was ok. It had a generous amount of chicken, not really spicy but had a small kick to it. Veggies were very fresh with nice crunchy texture. I love croissant, so I was happy that I could have this sandwich with croissant. Even though it was cold, it still was nice and buttery, very flaky and fluffy.
I was full after having half of the sandwich, so I brought the rest with me and had it for lunch. I enjoyed the sandwich, very tasty, well crafted, good quality and very filling. The price here was super affordable and the portion was great. The staffs were friendly and polite. It is always good to explore and find a new places to go and eat!
