I love all sorts of desserts, but éclair is one of my top favorites. And this shop is definitely one of my favorite dessert spots in NYC. I have been here a handful times since when I first had their éclairs (you can read about them here: Eclair Bakery #1, #2, #3 ).
But, it has been a while since I last visited them…and then found out they have completely renovated their shop! The interior was so much brighter, cuter, and cozier. The seating at the front was not very attractive, it did its job, but that was about it. But now, it is adorable!
They had their show-window and register behind the front seating space as before, but much bigger too. Then, we saw they had expanded towards the back, with more seating behind the register! Seating was always an (small) issue here, since they didn’t have much… But they have solved that issue with more seating in the back. And the décor was really cute too, with vibrant colors and faux plants. Even though they don’t have a single window, they have done great job with lighting, keeping it very bright throughout.
They have modernized their show-window cases, larger and easier to see. They seriously updated and upgraded everything here, nice!
And yes, they do more than éclairs and macarons, they have all sorts of desserts (although it was slim picking at 7:30pm), and also, all sorts of baked goods too. We have tried several of their desserts, and they are all sooooo good!!!
On this night, we got something I’ve always wanted to get… Mini Tasting Box ($25)! They have 12 mini éclairs in a box, a perfect way to try many of their éclairs. They had two traditional éclairs, and one of Dulce de Leche, Matcha, Dark Chocolate, Mascarpone, Passion Fruit, Cheesecake (?), Coffee, Milk Chocolate, Pistachio, and Hazelnut.
We’ve had most of these flavors, with a regular sized éclair. The mini ones are as good, as tasty, and crafted with as much love and care as the regular sized ones. All the éclairs were fresh, with loads of filling! I love seeing vanilla beans in the cream…
The flavor of the ingredients are very much alive in the filling, vibrant and exciting. My taste buds were happy with the brilliant flavors!
With all the fancy upgrades and renovation, it was much more relaxing to have their éclairs there. And, they haven’t lost their special magic touch in creating the éclairs. Still one of my favorite éclairs, and desserts spot in NYC!
