Ever since we first visited Hotel Chantelle in 2016, we became fans of this spot. We especially love their rooftop dining. It has such fun and cute Parisian feel to it. We thought my mother and my niece would also really like this place, so we brought them for an early brunch in September 2022. When we arrived, it was nearly empty, but it got filled up quickly.
Since my adorable little niece is now drinking age (how did that happen?!), we decided to start off the brunch with some alcoholic beverages. We got Passion Fruit Mojito ($15.92), made with Bacardi Silver, Mint, Passion Fruit Syrup, Lime, and Prosecco. fruity and lots of fresh mint leaves made it extra minty. Great on a hot day! Frosé ($15.92), one of the best drinks in the summer, was a good size, less fruity and less sweet. Very refreshing. Bellini ($10.92) was fruity and sweet, my niece really enjoyed it. One of us chose beer, Coney Island IPA ($7.92). It was light and crisp, easy to go down.
For food, we each ordered something different so we can try more dishes. First one was Spanish Baked Eggs ($19.92), made with Serrano Ham, Poached Eggs, Roasted Poblano Peppers, Cilantro Smoked-Spicy Tomato Sauce, Crumbled Cheddar, Crème fraîche. It came wish a side of baguette, perfect for dipping. The egged were poached just right, and the tomato sauce was packed with flavor! It had a little kick to it, so good!
Second dish was Steak Frites & Eggs ($27.92), made with Cast Iron Skillet Sirloin Steak, Two Eggs, and Pomme Frites. The potatoes were more like home eggs instead of French fries, but they were really good. The amount of steak was very generous, juicy and the seasoning was simply delicious! Eggs gave us the egg porn, running over the juicy steak strips… It was very satisfying.
We had to get one savory dish too. We ordered Stuffed French Toast ($17.92), made with Stuffed Brioche, Maple-infused Mascarpone and Ricotta, Crusted in Frosted Flakes, served with Maple Syrup. It was very tall, almost square in shape. It came with a few fruits, ripe and sweet. The filling was nice and creamy, and the crunchy exterior was fun to eat.
Then, last but not least, the most interesting item we found on the brunch menu: Breakfast Pizza ($19). It is thin crust personal size pizza, made with Scrambled Eggs, Cheddar, Crumbled Bacon, Chives, and Spicy Ketchup. Very unique dish, something that you won’t find in Japan (maybe). It was very good, much more so than I expected. I love a pleasant surprise! The crust was crispy and thin, yet holding its weight instead of bending down when you pick up a slice. The flavor was quite good, I enjoyed every bite of this pie!
Our Parisian brunch was a success! We all enjoyed the drinks and food, and we were all very happy and full. The service was friendly and polite. We had a fun brunch here at Hotel Chantelle. We will be sure to return again in a future for more delicious food and drinks!
