I am not a huge fan of bagels, unless it is a really good bagels… I saw this spot with great varieties of bagels, and it seems like a popular spot. So, we decided to check them out one weekend. It had a rather small storefront, but with signs right out side, it was easy to spot.
The inside was a bit smaller than I expected, long and narrow. The cash register to the front, with window showcase lining up on the right side. I thought this was a simple bagel shop, but they actually offer more than that. All the way back of the store, they had several ingredients for sandwiches, which can be ordered on a roll, bagel, or as make it a hero sandwich. They also offer coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. They had all the condiments like milk and sugar along the wall.
If you want something other than those drink options, they have that covered. They had all sorts of drinks and also some snacks on the shelves. They also had some cold drinks in the refrigerator in the back. If you order an iced coffee, they have pre-made iced coffee here.
Now, the main item: Bagel. They had a cute display on the wall with all sorts of bagels in rows of racks. I counted 15 kinds of bagels! Although, we didn’t see too many bagels there. The male staff greeted us as soon as we got there, and told us that they don’t keep too many bagels there on the racks, in order to keep them fresh. That makes total sense… He was nice enough to get us more “fresh” bagels from the back when we placed our order.
And what about the fillings/spread? Oh my…you have come to the right place. Just look at these beauties, so many cream cheese spreads… I wanted to try them all, but I was also quite hungry… They offer more than just spreads, but also, vegan spread, Lox, egg, bacon, etc. And I believe we can purchase just the cream cheese itself also.
On top of bagels, they offer some baked goods too. They get doughnuts from Dough, which I am a big fan of. Good to know another location where we can get our hands of them! They also have some muffins, Danish, cookies, etc.
One thing about this place is that there is not spot to eat… Since it was a chilly day, we decided to just head home and have the bagels and doughnuts.
The first bagel creation was chosen by my hubby. He went with Fresh Lox & Flavored Cream Cheese on Salt Bagel ($9). And what kind of cream cheese did he get? Blueberry. Hmmmmm… Blueberry cream cheese with lox… Interesting mix… It was actually not bad, the blueberry cream cheese was not so “fruity,” but velvety, high quality, and cream cheesy. The bagel was good, but a bit tough. The Lox was fresh and tasty, but the salt from the salt bagel was a bit much when you mix it with lox that has natural salty flavor…
I went with more breakfast type, Sausage, Egg, & Cheese on Everything Bagel ($5). It was quite tasty, and the bagel but much softer. Maybe because it was toasted? I really enjoyed this bagel! The sausage was meaty and although it didn’t have much cheese, but the flavor was there. Egg was cooked nicely in the way it was not dry. Nicely done!
Then the Dough Doughnuts! The first one was Toasted Coconut ($3.50). It was almost the same size as the bagel, nice and big as usual. It had a really nice coconut flavor with lots of shredded coconut meat on top. Great for a coconut lover.
Second one was Café Au Lait ($3.50). I have had this before, but I forgot that I had it before… Well, I really liked it, so why not get it again, right? It got a bit squished on top between the shop and home, it looked better when we bought it… Anyways, it was still really tasty, but felt much more sweet than I remembered.
The staffs here, especially the male staff who made our bagel creations, was really nice. We felt welcomed and our business appreciated. I must say I have become a fan of their bagels… We shall return for more in a near future!
