This spot has changed its name once or twice, and now it is called Inwood Farm. To be honest, we didn’t have the best experience in the past, under the different name/management, so we were a bit skeptical about the newly named restaurant. Still, we wanted to check it out since our friend had a nice experience here at Inwood Farm.
The inside space is the same, with a nice large dining space with lots of natural light flooding inside, very warm and cozy atmosphere. I like the use of wood in here, makes it extra homey and cozy. They have a fully stocked bar as well.
They still have the “cafe” section in the front as well, with all sorts of baked goods, and several flavors of ice cream too. So, if you want just some baked goods to go, or a scoop of ice cream to go, instead of dining in, you can certainly do that too.
We started off our brunch with Cappuccino, it had a nice foam on the top, a nice cup of coffee to begin our brunch journey…
For food, we ordered Crab Cake Benedict ($25), Stuffed Brioche French Toast ($17), and added side of Bacon ($5). They also have Thick Cut Bacon for $8, but we received the “addition” side for the less bucks. I believe my hubby wanted the Thick Cut Bacon, but we didn’t communicate that well with our server… The regular bacon was good though, crisp yet juicy, not overdone, gives you that salty, meaty, satisfying flavor.
Stuffed Brioche French Toast was in a perfect square block shape, a nice size too. It is made with Raspberry Filling and Mint, although I don’t know where the mint was on ours, unless it is incorporated into the filling? I didn’t taste any minty flavor, so I assume it was supposed to be a garnish that they might have forgotten. The brioche was light and fluffy, the filling was nice and tart. With the syrup and dusting of sugar on top, the tartness balanced out the sweetness.
Crab Cake Benedict is pricier for obvious reason, but I really wanted crab cake… It is made with Jumbo Lump Crab, Poached Egg, and Hollandaise Sauce. It was a normal/typical size, with perfectly poached egg on top. The crab cake was moist and flavorful. The biscuit/English muffin (?) on the bottom was a bit too hard, but that was ok. It came with a fresh side salad, that balanced out the richness of the Benedict.
The bathroom is located near the “cafe” seating area. Just walk through all the people with laptop in that room, all the way in the back to the left. It was kind of funny to see that area being the “laptop” section. The bathroom was roomy, bright, and clean.
We had a pleasant brunch here at the Inwood Farm, I say the new people are doing a good job! The food was tasty, the service was friendly. A nice relaxing brunch. I would like to go back again to try some other dishes in a near future.
