When traveling by air, it is always nice to have an access to a lounge, so that you can get some relaxation before or after your flight. I have been to Casa Alitalia Lounge in JFK, Wingtips Lounge at JFK, Air France Lounge at JFK, and Sakura Lounge at Narita Airport. At Heathrow Airport, we tried their No.1 Lounge located in Terminal 3, before heading back to NYC.
It was quite big, modern, and with loads of seating. It had a bar near the entrance with a long bar counter table. Passed the bar, the space opens up even more to the right.
This is more than just a lounge, it comes with bedrooms and travel spa! We were not in need of bedroom, and not in the mood try their spa. But they sure looked nice!
We did, however, took advantage of their Cinema room. What! How awesome is this! There were barely anyone in here, so most of the time, we got to have our own, private cinema. Sweet!
The food spread was more of “snacks” than real food. Mainly fruits, breads, salads…
They did have some chocolate croissants that looked nice, and also a good amount of other sweet baked goods. We tried some of them, and they were not bad at all.
They had a nice selection of drinks, from coffee, soda, juice, and alcoholic beverages.
We got ourselves some Veuve Clicquot Rosé Champagne, and it was really nice! Pretty pink color, with fruity notes. Great for any private cinema, wouldn’t you say?
With our Priority Passes, we were allowed to have one complimentary dish off their food menu. I went with Macaroni & Cheese, made with rich cheddar cheese sauce, topped with toasted panko breadcrumbs. You could get truffle oil on request, so I put in that request too. It came out nice and creamy, but didn’t get any aroma or flavor of truffle. I wonder if they put such tiny amount of it, or maybe they forgot??? It was not as delicious as I wanted it to be. It was lacking flavor, to be honest.
My hubby made a better choice, and went with Butternut Squash Curry. It is a mild, creamy curry served with pilau rice, topped with crumbled paneer. The curry was much more flavorful than the mac & cheese. It had a nice little kick to it, which we enjoyed.
The bathroom was near the spa, and therefore, it was quite fancy. Clean, spacious, and shiny. I liked the L’Occitane hand wash and hand lotion in there.
Overall, it was a nice, relaxing lounge. The staffs frequently go around, picking up plates and glasses, keeping the area clean. We got to watch Wonder Woman movie while we wined and dined before our flight. It was such a good little break before getting onto the plane. I would definitely use this lounge again the next time I am in Heathrow!
