While visiting Texas, I had an opportunity to go watch a ball game at Globe Life Park. It was a nice day, but yes, hot in Texas… Luckily, the game was an evening game, and I had a seat in one of their suite. I have only been to some suites in Yankees Stadiums (you can read about them here: http://www.foodlovergirl.com/luxury-suite-yankee-stadium/ , http://www.foodlovergirl.com/delta-sky360-suite-yankee-stadium/ , and http://www.foodlovergirl.com/delta-sky360-suite-yankee-stadium-2/ ), so I was excited to see what this one would be like.
The stadium was nice and big, since we arrived before the game, not too many people just yet. We went to see the field before going up to our suite. Beautiful evening, perfect for a ball game!
There are few different kinds of suites, based on your needs, and we were going to be in their Party Suite. They have total of eight party suites, each a bit different size. You can choose which one you want to rent, depends on the number of people in your group. The party suites can accommodate 30 to 120 guests. The one we had was called Ferguson Jenkins Suite, #201 on upper level. We had to get to the 200 section first, then go up on a green staircase to get to the “upper” suite section.
Ferguson Jenkins accommodates up to 38 people, and have indoor and outdoor seating. It had two rooms that are connected to create large enough space, and also comes with a private restroom. The inside is air-conditioned, and closed off with glass walls and doors from the outside. You can either stay in the cool air, or go sit outside to watch the game.
The view from the outdoor seating is pretty nice, although I do enjoy the game from a spot that is closer to the home base. The temperature dropped to a comfortable number by the time the game started, and we all enjoyed the game from the outdoor seating.
What about food? The food and beverage package at this suite had pretty good selection. They were spread out on the counter tops on both room. The main room had the hot food and condiments, while the other room had cold dishes like cheese & fruit platter and salad for healthier options.
As for drinks, they had soft drinks, bottled water, canned beer and some wines. They had plenty of drinks of all kinds, we were well taken care of right here.
The hot foods selection was interesting, very Tex-Mex in my opinion. They had chicken fajitas with veggies, beef brisket with onion rings. They were a bit dry, as they had to be pre-prepared. They were not the best, but tasty enough.
The popular item here was their chicken tender & wing combo. This one went pretty quick. I wish I grabbed a few more on my plate at the beginning… And yes, some desserts. They had lots of cookie & brownie tray. I think everyone got full with food and drinks, they had a lot of these left at the end of the game. I took a couple of cookies to go, and had them later at the hotel.
And ball game won’t be complete without jumbo hot dogs! They were pretty good, plump dogs and all the condiments you need for the hod dog. I wish if I could afford to eat two of these, but I was too full…
They also had huge container filled with popcorn on the bar tables, which was great snacks with some ice cold beer. We had a fun time here at the Party Suite, with lots of food and drinks. Such a nice way to watch the game on a hot day (or any day, really). If you are planning some fancy party at the Globe Life Park, check out their Party Suite!
