Primeclass Lounge & Chase Sapphire Lounge @ JFK

We like to arrive at any airport early when traveling by air, so that we can get through all the check-in, security, finding the gate, etc., then relax at an airport lounge. I did write about our experience at Casa Alitalia Lounge @ JFK, No.1 Lounge @ Heathrow Airport, JAL Sakura Lounge 2017, etc. in the past. This time we flew to Portland, Oregon in June, so we got to check out more airport lounges at JFK. Our gate was out of Terminal 4, and as far as I know, there are four lounges located at Terminal 4: Virgin Atlantic Club House, Air India Maharaja Lounge, Primeclass Lounge, and Chase Sapphire Lounge.

We headed to Primeclass Lounge first with our boarding passes. It is located next to gate A2, and open 24 hours, which is helpful when your flight is super early or super late. We arrive a little after 7AM, and the lounge was not too busy with small number of travelers. It was spacious with a good amount of seatings. Nothing fancy, but basic lounge that allows you to hang out and relax until your flight is ready to board.

They had some food and drink options, and since it was the morning time, they mostly had breakfast type food. I was surprised to see some cup noodles there. I somehow enjoy having a cup noodle at an airport lounge, and I have no idea why I like them. LOL. They had typical drink offerings like coffee, soda, juice, etc. Again, nothing fancy but basic items that I expected to see at an airport lounge.

They did have some hot and cold food though, such as turkey bacon, eggs, crudité, yogurt, etc. I thought they had a nice option of different type of food. Something for everyone. They have alcoholic beverage, such as bee and wine, but I don’t think they serve alcohol in the morning time? I didn’t see them anywhere, not that I was looking for them. The Primelounge has the flight information on the screens on the wall, so you can keep your eye on your flight status. It is also disabled access, so a traveler on a wheelchair and such can access the ground easily.

After about 30 minutes of relaxation and small amount of food, we decided to check out Chase Sapphire Lounge. It is located at mezzanine on level 4, above gate A2. It is open from 5am to 11pm (restricted access for non-Chase members), with disabled access as well. The actual name of this lounge is quite long, Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways. It sure is a mouthful. The lounge was really beautiful, large space, and bright with huge floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the airways. It had a big, fully stocked bar, and yes, more popular than the Primeclass Lounge. We are Chase Sapphire card holders, so we figured why not utilize their fancy lounge while we can.

I liked how they had a few different areas inside the lounge. From the bar/lounge area to more of a semi-separated living-room-feel area with lots of plants, and the area with table and chairs for dining.

Then, at all the way back, they had a super cozy area with sofas, comfy chairs, and a fireplace! How nice! This area seemed to be very popular, as I can totally understand.

Their and food and (non-alcoholic) drinks were also a bit fancier too. The food was located near the area with tables and chairs for dining, which makes sense. They had some juice, water, coffee, etc., but the ones I liked were the ones in drink dispenser. They had Sparklin Harny & Sons Paris Tea, Cranberry Mint Spa Water, and Joe Coffee Cold Brew. I mean, come on!

The breakfast items were French Toast, Overnight Oats, Yogurt Parfait, Fresh Fruits, Turkey Bacon, etc. I believe there are some menu items you can “make to order” as well, but we didn’t take advantage off of that.

As for the amenity, they had Reflection Room, Private Shower Room, and a beautiful bathroom.

They had Apotheke brand soap and lotion, sanitary napkins, cotton swabs, and such. If you need some other amenities that you don’t see here, you could ask the staff and they might bring it to you upon request, if they have them available. What a service!

We had a nice, relaxing time here at Chase Sapphire Lounge until it was time for us to head over to our gate. If you are traveling out of JFK airport, terminal 4, check out the Primeclass Lounge and/or Chase Sapphire Lounge. You get a little R&R before your flight with some food and drinks, with your legs stretched out in an open space for a bit!
