The last restaurant we visited last fall before we headed back home was Salvatore’s Ristorante. I say we did great job finding amazing restaurants during this trip, such as Beach Road Restaurant and The Pawnee House. We did, however, had some not-so-great dining experience as well, which I will not mention… We were hoping for another great food outing at Salvatore’s Ristorante. It was pouring outside, so I didn’t get to take a photo of the exterior. The inside was cozy and homey. Loads of woos and exposed brick walls, bringing out the earthy, warm atmosphere.
Once we were seated and settled, a staff brought some complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread came out hot, which was great. They were soft and fluffy. The table had a jar of parmesan cheese, which I loved. Italian dish and parmesan cheese go together so well, and by having it on the table, you don’t have to keep asking for it.
We ordered some cocktails, Italian Watermelon ($15) and Italian Berry Mule ($15). I love watermelon, maybe not as much as my mother, but I enjoy some sweet, juicy watermelon during the summer. Italian Watermelon is made with Grey Goose Watermelon & Basil Essence, Homemade Watermelon Purée, Lime Juice, and Agave Nectar. It came with a sizable watermelon wedge, which was awesome. This drink was a watermelon lover’s dream with a strong watermelon flavor, so delicious! Italian Berry Mule is made with Vodka, Muddled Fresh Berries, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Aged Balsamic Vinegar, topped with Ginger Beer. It was refreshing with nice ginger flavor. Fruity with real fruit in there, excellent!
For main, I went with one of the Specials, Tagliatelle Salvatore ($49). It is made with House made Pasta with Shrimp, Lobster, and Scallops in a Light Lemon Creamy Sauce. It had a generous amount of lobster chunks. Pasta was plump, placed atop the sauce instead of mixed with the sauce, which was interesting. The sauce was indeed creamy, with the bit of acidity from lemon coming through perfectly. Shrimp was pre-peeled entirely, so I didn’t have to fight against its tails. Juicy and flaky scallops were great, they were nice size too. Nice portion, so it was filling and satisfying.
My hubby chose Spaghetti Vongole ($38), made with Local Littleneck Clams, Garlic, Parsley, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and White Wine. When this dish came to the table, we gasped with pleasant surprise. The amount of clams were just amazing! It had a similar flavor to pesto, very fresh with deep flavor. Spaghetti was cooked just right, and the delicious garlic coming through…it was a great dish for sure.
We couldn’t end our wonderful dinner (and the great vacation) without a dessert… We ordered Bella Italia ($14). It is Italian Gelato with Vanilla, Chocolate, and Pistachio flavors, topped with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Syrup. We loved how they plated this, so adorable! The chocolate gelato was so chocolatey, vanilla with lots of vanilla beans that you can see. Pistachio flavor was weak compared to the other two. Overall, we loved the dessert, it was a nice pallet cleanser too. Great way to end the tasty meal.
Staffs were all friendly and polite, we had a really nice dinner here. So glad that the last place we dined was a bit hit! The price point is a bit high, but the quality was really good too. I would definitely go back for more the next time we go back to Martha’s Vineyard.
