This is my second review of this Shake Shack location. (You can read about my first review here: http://www.foodlovergirl.com/shake-shack-uws/) We went back to this location for a very specific reason: to get their limited time only shakes! Will & Grace-themed shakes!!!
They have two kinds of shakes in honor of the return of the show. One of them is called Will & Grace Shake, and another one is called “Just Jack” & Karen Shake. They are available at only couple of locations, and only until October 1st.
Will & Grace Shake ($5.99) is made with Cinnamon marshmallow frozen custard, blended with Shack fudge, and topped with whipped cream and cinnamon sugar. Yes that sounds delightful, especially if you like cinnamon flavor and marshmallow.
It was sweet and extra creamy from the marshmallow frozen custard. Really nice cinnamon flavor. The “fudge” part was not strongly present in this shake. The shake itself was slightly “tan” color than white, I assume from the Shack fudge. It had a nice chocolate-y flavor that was rather subtle, not overpowering the flavor of cinnamon and marshmallow. Sweet with nice reddish spice, and dare say “soft” as Jack always says about Will? LOL. Of course, the strongest part was its sweetness as Will and Grace.
Jack & Karen Shake ($5.99): Strawberry frozen custard blended with prosecco and topped with whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles and raspberry dust. This is their very first alcoholic shake! And it sounded sooooo good, and perfect shake for Jack and Karen. It looked as fabulous and flamboyant as the duo, very appropriate shake for the characters!
I expected this to be a sweet shake with just a hint of prosecco. But, they surprised me in an awesome way. It was pretty darn strong, just the way Karen would like it! I really liked the strawberry flavor of the shake, it went so perfect with the prosecco. Kind of like having a champagne with strawberry in it, but reversed, and sweetened. The raspberry dust was really great, it added wonderful fruity flavor that was strong, but not overpowering. The raspberry flavor went really well with strawberry and prosecco.
I was so glad to be able to try these special shakes. I think all Will, Grace, Jack and Karen would approve. I wish if they could keep these shakes on the menu for…well, forever. But then again, that will make them less special. Speaking of special, they do something extra special with these shakes. For every shake sold, Shake Shack and NBC will donate $2 to GLAAD, the LGBTQ media advocacy organization. It is always great to hear about your money going to a great cause. So, head over to Shake Shack at UWS or Herald Square and get you some Will & Grace-themed shakes before they are gone! I hope they will continue to have these fun and creative offerings!
