One of the spot I wanted to visit during our vacation in Orlando was Sprinkles. I always enjoy a good little cupcake, or two, or three… I will always have my hubby to share them with, so we do share the sugar and calories! If that is not love, what is?
I wasn’t really looking to get any particular cupcake from this location. What I was interested in, however, was their Cupcake ATM. Yes, you read it right, Cupcake ATM! They introduced the World’s first Cupcake ATM, where you can get cupcakes and cookies 24/7! Now, they have dozens of locations… And this is one of them.
So, how it works is that you walk up to the ATM, which was located right next to the actual Sprinkles location, and use the touch screen to make your purchase. It was quite easy and simple. After you choose your cupcake and pay, you will see a robotic arm picking up the cupcake, and putting them into the dispenser.
Within a minute or two, you get your very own cupcake, boxed, ready to be indulged. It was certainly fun to get our cupcake this way!
Since it was dark out and no where to sit, we walked inside the Sprinkles. They had a bench or two there, and yes, light! When we opened the box, our cupcake was neatly nestled in the cute little box.
Another good thing about having this cupcake in the inside was that they have plates, utensils, and napkin. On top of that, they had complimentary water too! Thanks! The cupcake of our choice was Banana Dark Chocolate ($5.50). It was a good size, not big but not too small. I liked how it didn’t have too much frosting, which I was a bit worried about. The frosting was thinner than most other cupcakes I’ve had, and in my opinion, less is better… The banana flavor was great, moist and satisfying. It was almost like a banana bread that your grand mother used to bake… I didn’t have a high expectation of their cupcake for some reason, and I was pleasantly surprised.
One thing to note, the variety you get to pick from the Cupcake ATM is quite limited. If you want more varieties, you need to go inside and make the purchase. They also have a cupcake of the month and some other special cupcakes only in the store, not offered at the ATM.
We went close to the closing time, so no staff was making any more cupcakes. And, it seems that all the staffs were just ready to go home. They were all young staffs, just chilling and chit-chatting with each other, not interested in any customers coming in… But, the cupcake was good, and since I used the ATM, I didn’t have to deal with any of them which was a blessing, LOL.
