On one chilly evening, we were walking around East Village, and walked passed this curious spot. It seems that they were specializing in marshmallows? Hmmm, we do love good marshmallows… Especially if it is topped on a good hot chocolate. And guess what? They were offering hot chocolate!

So we decided to get some hot chocolate. The inside was a good size with lots of seating.  Considering this is a marshmallow spot, it was much bigger than I anticipated. Simple furniture with clean lines, no table seating, as the interior is more narrow and long.

It had a few decorations, but the marshmallow characters somehow made me think of skeletons… I can see it is quite difficult to depict a marshmallow princess or any other characters made of marshmallow…

Now, let’s talk about real marshmallows that we can actually eat! They had a nice varieties of marshmallows, some square, some round. Some plain looking, some super cute looking.

And something very important when you are consuming a very sweet item…water! Depends on where you get your sweets, some people make it waaaay too sweet to the point you cant breath or get cough attach…not a good feeling at all. Having a cup of water will be very helpful if that ever happens.

Back to their sweets. We ordered Hot Chocolate with Marshmallow ($6). We chose S’mores Marshmallow on one, and Banana Pudding Marshmallow on the other one. The staff with a welcoming smile filled the cup to the rim (thank you!) and topped it with the square marshmallows.

S’mores marshmallow is flavored with vanilla, chocolate chunks, and cinnamon graham cracker crumble. Banana Pudding is flavored with banana, vanilla, and wafer cookie crumble. They were both super fluffy, good size marshmallows. I liked them both, but to me, Banana Pudding had stronger flavor. It could be that the flavor of S’more is somewhat diluted by the flavor of hot chocolate. And because of that, banana flavor stands out better against the chocolate flavor. The hot chocolate itself was pretty good, not very sweet which complimented the  sweet marshmallows really well.

We enjoyed our hot chocolate with fluffy and tasty marshmallows. Since they had more offerings made with marshmallows, I would like to go back and get some more of their tasty treats in a near future!
