We first discovered this spot in the summer of 2019. The food was amazing, and we became an instant fan. We haven’t really had the opportunity to go back since then… We thought it would be a great meal to start off the New Year with some clean, tasty Asian food, and we decided to go back to Suross! The inside was still pretty much in the holiday spirit, but then I spotted something that looked familiar… They had my blog on the wall, which made me a bit special 🙂
Since it was in the early evening, we missed the lunch special. So, we didn’t get any side dishes, but we were ok with that. We ordered from the regular dinner menu. My hubby had curry the last time, and it was really great. So, he decided to try different kind of curry this time. He went with Green Curry, with Fried Fillet Fish ($12.95). The last time he ordered his curry with fried fillet fish, it came in chunks of fried fish. This time, it came in a whole, large fish.
The green curry is described as “exotically spicy,” and is made with herb-blended coconut curry with basil, bamboo, bell pepper and string bean. It was so clean and fresh! Fish was nice and juicy, flakey and went great with the curry. A good amount of fresh veggies, cooked just right with crisp texture. It had a nice kick to it, spicier than I expected. It was packed with flavor, with some sweetness from coconut milk. It was delicious!
The last time, I had an amazing noodle dish, I almost ordered the same one…but I wanted to try something new, so I ordered a different noodle dish. It was called the Spicy CoCo Noodle Soup ($12.95), made with shrimp, lemongrass, tomato, mushroom, cilantro and scallion, bokchoy and boiled egg, with spicy Tom Yum coconut soup and rice noodle. Yes, quite a mouthful, and the soup bowl was certainly loaded with ingredients!
The soup was tomato-y, with nice kick to it. Rich and earthy, great broth! It had a generous amount of plump shrimps, with an eggs cooked just right, and nice amount of fresh veggies. Grilled tomato was nice addition, went great with the soup, of course. Noodles were cooked to perfection! I thought it would be quite spicy, but the tomato brought out its sweetness to it, so it was not as spicy as expected. I could also taste the coconut, balancing out the spicy-ness. I totally loved this dish!
We also had Thai Iced Tea, in which I kind of thought it would be kind of strange to have very sweet tea with spicy dish. However, Thai iced tea actually went nicely with the spicy food, which was surprising. Awesome!
The staff was nice and gave us good recommendation. We totally enjoyed our second visit. I am sure we will go back for more in the near future…
