We went to Martha’s Vineyard for a day, and decided to make a full day of delicious fun! The first stop was going to be a light breakfast. We had to find a place that is open super early, and near the ferry terminal. I found this spot that offers some light breakfast items, and of course, lots of sweet items. They had a small parking lot next to it, but no bike rack.
The inside was a nice size, not too small, with a good amount of seating for a café. I liked the furniture with thick, heavy wood. It was welcoming with a light pink walls and natural light flooding in from the windows.
The cash register is all the way to the back, to the left. And right around the register, they had baked goods everywhere. They had some hot breads, scones, muffins, cookies, etc., etc…
And yes, lots of sweet desserts! They had all sorts of sliced and whole cakes, Tart, mousse, pudding, fudge…you name it, they have it. They even had 4 leches cake! What! They had lots of items that were pre-packaged, ready to be taken home. Or, you can have them right at the café with a coffee or a tea.
They have all the condiments neatly placed on the counter by the back wall. They had a cute drawing of a boy with “bite on the go ~ Sweet Bite” written on it. The funny thing (to me) was, the boy is holding a burger, fries, and a soda. I love burgers and fires, but in this case, I would’ve given the boy a cake and some other sweet items instead…but that’s just me.
They had a nice outdoor seating, and it was a really beautiful day. So, we decided to sit outside and enjoy our breakfast. It was a nice oasis, for as long as the street doesn’t get too busy and noisy with traffic.
We got a few things to share, as we didn’t want to get too full here. Just enough energy to keep up going on our bikes to the next delicious destination.
We got a Cappuccino ($3.99) and a Machiatto ($4.99) to go with our breakfast. They have a real espresso machine there, and they don’t kid around when it comes to coffee… These cups were super strong!!! I usually drink coffee without any sugar, but it was so strong, I had to have a little bit of sugar… They had nice aroma, certainly woke us up!
We bought a Raspberry Scone ($2.99). The staff heated it up for us. It was a nice large size, with loads of raspberries. It had a great aroma of warm butter… so good! Soft and moist, sweet but not overly sweet.
Then we had Cheesebread. They were nice and hot, with real cheese flavor. The texture in the inside was fun, kind of bouncy and chewy, similar to mochi texture. Tasty! I could have 10 of these babies easily…
The last item was Potato Bun. They had one with chicken, and another one with ham & cheese. We chose the one with ham & cheese. It had lots of small chunks of ham with herbs. It had great flavor, nice and cheesy! I’ve never had something like this, I thought it was quite unique.
They have one uni-sex bathroom, the door is located outside by the outdoor seating. You can’t miss the pink door. It was actually used as a bathroom and a closet with lockers. For as long they have a bathroom that a customer can use, I am always grateful.
The staffs were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We had the kind of breakfast we were looking for, and we got exactly what we wanted! It was quick, easy, and tasty. If you are coming into the Vineyard early in a morning, and need a savory or sweet bites, give this spot a try!
