We went to Cape Cod in July for the R&R. Even though we (still) don’t feel safe enough to go outdoor dining in NYC, we felt ok to do that in Cape Cod, with much less people and much less virus scare. We went to Trevi Cafe and Wine Bar, where they had a nice large outdoor seating space. The tables were spaced out far away from each other, so that we were not near any other patrons.
We ordered some cocktails to start. We ordered Skinny Pina Colada ($12) and Limoncello Tini ($12). Skinny Pina Colada is made with Bacardi Pineapple, Bacardi Coconut, Malibu, Pineapple Juice, and splash of Soda Water. It was nice and strong, with a really good coconut flavor. Soda water made it extra refreshing. Limoncello Tini was brought in a small carafe, so we poured it into the martini glass with lemon ribbon already placed inside the glass. It tasted just like limoncello, so it was sweet, but it was also strong. Great drink for limoncello lover.
We ordered some appetizers to share. Speaking of ordering, they also had No-Touch Digital Menus with downloadable QR code. Nice to have, especially during COVID. Back to food, we ordered Crispy Crushed Potatoes ($8) and Tzatziki ($8). I had high expectation for the potatoes, simply because they looked great! And they did not disappoint. It tasted as amazing as I’d hoped! It had crunchy exterior with still soft potato inside, delicious seasoning that just took the potato to the next level! It had Pepperoncini Aioli on the bottom, which was really delightful as well. We totally loved it!
Tzatziki ($8) dip is made with cucumber, lemon, Greek yogurt. It comes with a side of grilled pita. Since there were four of us, we decided to order extra plate of Pita ($2). The amount of pita bread that they brought us for $2 was great! We had more than enough pita to go around. Trevi Cafe and Wine Bar really know how to make customers happy!
For main, one of us ordered Salmon ($26), two of us ordered Trevi Burger ($16), and one of us ordered Braised Short Ribs ($26). Salmon comes with zucchini, Summer squash noodles, English peas, and basil Pesto. The salmon looked really nice! Salmon was cooked just the way it was requested, great job!
Braised Short Ribs comes with mushroom, and herbed cheese risotto. The rib was super tender and very juicy! Cheese risotto was delicious, not overcooked, just right. Mushrooms were nice and plump. It had a pleasant and wonderful flavor with elegant seasoning. We really enjoyed it, a great dish!
And then the Trevi Burger. It is made with 1/2 lb. Brandt beef burger, bacon onion jam, gruyere cheese, arugula, with a side of truffle fries. It all sounded really good, and when it came out, I was very excited to try it!
What can I say about their burger? First of all, it was super juicy!!! Love the bacon onion jam, so tasty!!! Fluffy buns that were toasted perfectly. Thick patty, very substantial. Cooked just the way I like. Truffle fries had a great truffle flavor and yes, addicting… Totally drool worthy dish!
With everything going so well, we decided to push our luck with desserts, as we usually do… You can always get a little extra space for dessert, right? We ordered two desserts to share among the four of us, and Cappuccino ($3) to go with it. One of us ordered a decaf coffee, which arrived lukewarm… About the only negative we experienced thus far. They should always have a nice hot cup of coffee for customers…
So, desserts. We ordered Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies ($5) and Cheesecake ($8). They were out of their regular chocolate chip cookie, so they asked if we are ok with their chocolate cookies. It was like double chocolate cookies, since it was chocolate cookies with chocolate chips in them. We added Vanilla Gelato for additional $2. It was sweet, as you can imagine, great for chocolate or brownie lovers, in my opinion. Soft cookies that went nicely with vanilla gelato. The cheesecake was interesting, it only said “finished with a strawberry Compote” so I was surprised to see the pretty layers of the cheesecake. It looked so good, someone took a bite off it before I had a chance to take a picture! (LOL). It was a small bite, on the other size, so you can’t really tell… It was rich, creamy, and very tasty!
We had a nice dining experience here, the staffs were polite, friendly, and efficient. At the end, manager came by to see if everything was ok, which I always appreciate the extra effort and consideration. The food was great from the first bite to the end. And we did not feel crowded at any point during our dinner, which was extra plus. Glad to have dined there, I hope they will continue to do well during these difficult times. If you are in the area and looking for a tasty meal, give Trevi Cafe and Wine Bar a chance!
