We visited Vinatería for brunch about a month ago. They offer upscale Italian- and Spanish-influenced dishes. We went there right when they opened, so it was almost empty. They had a large bar right at the entrance, with a real chair instead of bar stool chairs.
The inside was actually a bit smaller than I thought it would be. Still, spacious and very bright with loads of natural light coming through from the large windows. The interior was modern and warm, inviting.
Their brunch menu includes complimentary coffee, tea, mimosa, or bloody mary, which is great! We started with Latte ($5) and Macchiato ($5). They were strong, real-deal coffee! The foam on top was creamy, a nice cup of coffee for sure!
My hubby picked one of his favorite brunch items, Baked Eggs. We tried one from La Bergamote, and from Freemans. They were both quite good! Here at Vinatería, they have Baked Eggs & Pomodoro ($18.50), made with Eggs Poached in Smoked Tomato Sauce, and Goat Cheese. It is served with Grilled Ciabatta and House Salad.
The eggs were perfectly poached, giving us egg porn. Tomato sauce flavor was great, not spicy, but had subtle sweetness from tomatoes. Ciabatta was super crunchy, and salad was very fresh.
I was feeling like a burger, as I do many days… So, I chose Applewood Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger ($18.50). It comes with fries or salad, but I substituted them with Truffle Fries for extra $4. I mean, come on, we only live once, and I love truffle fries! The fries were soft and potato-y, just the way I like it. Great aroma and flavor or truffle.
The burger was really big! The buns were fluffy, but very dry, which was disappointing. Bacon was meaty, almost crunchy. Patty was super juicy! Cheese softly cuddling the patty, giving some love… Other than the super dried out buns, which made it difficult to eat, it was a good burger. I just left the buns on the plate…
Their bathroom is all the way in the back, around the corner. I was really red in there with the red-colored lighting… Everything in there, including the toilet, was black. Interesting…
Service was nice and polite, they don’t rush you. That does not mean they just leave you be without being efficient. The staffs kept their eyes on the water glasses, and picked up finished dishes in timely manner. A nice spot for a brunch, good portion at affordable prices.
