Vineapple

As we were looking at a brunch spot somewhere in DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights. And, I found a perfect place called Vineapple, on Pineapple Street. I know, what a cool name, right? They have a nice outdoor seating (for now), and a cute pineapple neon light at the window.

Once you walk inside, there is a small counter seats by the front window. They had some menu up front with baked goods right there, for anyone wanting to get some drinks and quick food to go. Since we were there to dine in, we walked towards the back.

In the back, there were several tables and chairs, in a very cozy atmosphere, almost like someone’s home. Loved all the wood, exposed bricks, and colorful lanterns. The furniture in this area had kind of antique feel to it, making it extra homey.

Through the back door, they have a lovely patio with tables and chairs as well. They have it covered a bit so that the sun doesn’t beam down on the area too much.

This area can be reserved for a party, which is nice to know, but at the same time, if you get there on such day and the patio is off limit, it could be a bit sad… But hey, the inside is as lovely as the outside!

We got there on a hot morning, so we wanted some cold drinks. But, we wanted to make sure chose the drinks that comes in pineapple shaped glasses. LOL. So, my hubby went with Cold Brew ($6/large). We got some cream on the side too. Cold brew was strong and good coffee. Wakes you up! I went with Barista Drink of the Week, Sparkling Lavender Cucumber Matcha. It was a very interesting Matcha drink with lavender cucumber seltzer- surprise mix that works so well! Very refreshing, not sweet, not too fizzy. You can really taste the matcha.

For food, we ordered Brunch Breakfast Sandwich ($16) and Shakshuka ($20). One of my favorite item, any kind of brunch burger or sandwich, and my hubby’s favorite, shakshuka. I know, we are so predictable. LOL. The Brunch Breakfast Sandwich is made with Soft Scrambled Eggs with Asiago, Arugula, and House-made Tomato Jam. Served with Parmesan Potatoes. It had a choice of meat and bread. I went with Becon, and Kaiser Roll.

Scramble egg was so moist and juicy! So good with perfect amount of seasoning. Bacon was crunchy and added that salty flavor to the sandwich. Parmesan fries were very potato-y, but didn’t have much salt/ pepper on it. Of course, you can ask for them, but I asked for ketchup and it was enough with Parmesan flavor. It was a really nice sandwich, very tasty and satisfying. I enjoyed every bite!

with the Shakshuka, we added Chorizo for additional $5. Shakshuka was packed with flavor. Chorizo was amazing, meaty with a little kick. The egg was cooked perfectly, giving us the egg porn. Avocado was just ripe, soft, and fresh. It was a really nice shakshuka!

We had such nice brunch there, we decided to go back for more!

We ordered Shaken Lavender Latte, this is after I took a few sips. The coffee was strong as before, amazing taste with perfect sweetness, without being too sweet. Hint of lavender, just enough to give that flavor without being soapy. Very good latte!

And for food, this time, We went with The 71 Brunch Burger ($26) and Bacon Egg & Cheese Pizza ($24). As you can see on the first photo, the brunch pizza was quite big! A happy surprise, but we sure were not prepared for that. LOL.

The 71 Brunch Burger is made with Black Angus Burger with Fried Egg, Pineapple Marmalade, Bacon, Brie, Pickled Onions, Arugula, and Spicy Mayo. Served with Parmesan Roasted Potatoes.

Burger has “71” in it from their address. Some say it is the best burger in Brooklyn and I can understand. It had full of flavor, super juicy, and bits of pineapples in there which were great. The sauce was amazing too. For the cheese, they were out of Brie, so they made it with Munster cheese instead, which I was fine with. It was still amazing regardless. The egg was cooked just right, with gooey egg porn. Bacon were cooked just right, adding that meaty and salty flavor. Bun was fluffy and light yet solid enough to hold all that goodness.

Bacon Egg & Cheese Pizza was Pizza Romano topped with Bacon, Egg, Mozzarella, and Arugula. As I mentioned, it was much larger than expected. It would’ve been enough to share among the two people, plus maybe a dessert to share.

It had lots of gooey eggs and bacon, it was a perfect brunch pizza. Crust was airy and light, crispy and fluffy. Fresh arugula was a really nice touch. It was cheesy and had plenty of flavor. It was a really good pizza, so satisfying and filling.

They have one large gender-neutral bathroom, right across the fully stocked bar. It was cute with pink, clean and well stocked.

We had a really nice brunch here for the second time. During our both visits, server Eddy took care of us. He was very friendly, fun, and courteous. He was great! Everything we had was very tasty, super filling and satisfying. Eddy also told us they have lots of different events on different days at Vineapple, such as karaoke, trivia, and Sunday supper. If you are looking for a nice brunch spot, or a dinner with lots of fun activities, you might want this place a try!
